Background
Partnered with a startup to help develop and pitch a concept for a home services app designed to connect homeowners with trusted, local contractors. I worked closely with the founding team to map out the entire service flow — from how users would search for services to how they would book, pay, and review completed jobs. I designed a series of screen layouts and created interactive prototypes to bring the concept to life, allowing the team and potential investors to visualize the user experience early on.
Approach
Throughout the process, I developed mockups and tested multiple design variations to refine both functionality and user flow. I collaborated directly with a developer, who was able to translate these mockups into a fully functional prototype. Thanks to the strength of our concept and visuals, the project secured its first round of investment and we successfully piloted the product in the Austin market.
To support the launch, I also designed and built a branded sign-up website aimed at attracting early customers, establishing credibility, and generating interest around the new service.
Outcome
Although the first round of investments were successful. The project hit a roadblock in attracting contractors to exclusively use the service and there were issues with qualifying service providers.
